Today, I'm 18

On the day that I celebrate 18 years of my life, my excruciating passion for sports, especially my love of football burns brighter then ever.

As I reflect on the last year of my life, and the impact sport has had on my life, it's been a turbulent year!

From the highs of Andy Murray winning Wimbeldon and Manchester United cruising to a record-breaking 20th title which runs parallel to a year in which I've been offered places into university, to the lows of arguments with good friends which subsequently followed AC Milan's fall from grace.

It's been an interesting year nevertheless. It's a year that when I reflect, I have no regrets. This is the year, I've found myself truly.

There's a turning point in everyones life, and I had many this year. Being able to obtain work experience at the world's leading Olympic website at insidethegames.biz and learn under the amazing Duncan Mackay who is an award winning sport's journalist is a dream, quite literally that came true.

Also being given the chance to write free-lance for Givemesport.com in which I am now a Senior Contributor after accumulating over 300,000 views has been an awesome experience.

But my 18th year isn't going to be satisfied with these amazing gifts. It's time to press on and work harder to achieve the dream of being an accomplished sport's journalist.

This year on the bucket list, it's time to go bigger. I aim to be accepted by Bleacher Report and be able to write for them. With due respect to GiveMeSport who've given me a great platform to build on, BR have a much bigger reputation among the sport's community.

Also, at University I would love to able to take the lead and be a shining student. As I visited an Open Day at Lincoln University, there was one student who stood out who was a 1st year student. He was the only one, which give many of us prospective students that he was special for the journalism lecturers to give him such a chance.

I want that to be me.

I want to be able to show that I will be the best given the chance, at everything I do.

But that's the long term vision.

First, I must get through my A-Levels unscathed, and get the best possible grades for my future.

This is just the beginning.
