Witnessing an intentional elbow to the face to Zabaleta in the derby defeat yesterday, it's hard to recall in recent memory a United player performing such action with so much intent to hurt an opposing player.
That's not the United way, 'nor has it ever been.
This isn't to discount players such as Roy Keane for their previous actions, however at least they had the ability to back their hard-tackling play style.
Fellaini on the other hand, does not.
His lumbering movement, accompanied by his lethargic passing, was probably one of the worst individual performances at Old Trafford in recent years.
As many newspapers picked up, Fellaini's fate seems to run parallel with the same thread as Moyes, if the manager fails and gets sacked, Fellaini could be one of the first names out the door, however if Moyes is given time to spend in the summer, Fellaini may have a part to play in United's reconstruction.
This doesn't make him worthy of being a United player though. His attitude and performances haven't justified the £27m price-tag attached to him, and in comparison to the £24 that was spent on Silva, it's laughable at how desperate United were to sign the Belgian.
It's time for United to swallow their pride, and accept they made a mistake in the transfer market.
You can't change, or adapt every player you buy to the values at Old Trafford, and Fellaini is one of them.
