Being a Moyes fan, I've backed him from day one to succeed at Manchester United.
After 11 hard-working and ultimately successful years at Everton, it seemed written in the stars that the Toffees would inflict Moyes' 11th defeat of the season in the Premier League.
From the beginning of the season, the sounds coming out of Manchester United has been that they're going to spend, spend, spend this summer.
The evident argument is why didn't they last summer? However, that's another article altogether.
What the board of United didn't think through is, do we trust this manager with £200m?
This is no discredit to Moyes, but United simply cannot afford to have another abysmal season.
The performance against Everton was embarrassing, watching United attempting to play possession football but failing to get behind an organised Everton side.
One of the most frustrating aspects of Moyes' reign compared to the likes of Rodgers at Liverpool and Martinez at Everton, where is his philosophy?
Martinez displayed his variety in tactical approaches, as he set his Everton side up to soak pressure and then break with intense speed.
It was similar to watching many great United sides of the past.
Also, Moyes hasn't improved a single Unite player in that squad from last season. In comparison to Everton once more, Seamus Coleman has excelled magnificently since last season, becoming one of the best right-backs in the league.
Looking at the likes of Smalling, Jones and Rafael, their progress has come to a halt.
De Gea has been the only consistent performer for United this season, but everyone knew he's a fantastic shot-stopper.
With Moyes failing to make any impression on this United side, what evidence is there to point to that encourages the Glazers to hand over £200m?
He may have bought himself a few weeks with an impressive performance against Bayern at home, but since, United fans will grow more restless with every defeat.
As one tweeter pointed out yesterday, every win is meaningless and every defeat is seismic.
It's difficult to see Moyes staying at United for the summer if they can't beat the likes of Norwich, Sunderland, Hull and Southampton.
